These turned out really great and look even better in the sunlight! I think you did a great job with your blending. I kind of didn't want to try it because that blending task looked really hard. Do you think you think you could do blending with paint? That would be real messy a.
We've been given a challenge to write a summer poem, that uses only 3 of our senses, based on a picture of a boy mowing a lawn. Stage 1 was to draw and then brainstorm some ideas for the sounds and smells we would have on a summer's day while lawns are being mown in the neighbourhood. Today's stage was to read the mentor's piece of writing, and look at the set out and language used. Using highlighters we located nouns, verbs and adjectives; talking about how they were used and what they do in a piece of writing. Our next stage is to write our own, and share with each other so that we can make it come alive for our readers.
As part of our exploration into Force and Motion, we have been making Marble Runs, Marble Mazes and Domino Chains. Cyrus created an effective chain of DVD cases and books, beginning his chain by rolling a ball towards it and also getting it to run around a corner. With the challenge on to experiment with a large run of dominoes, Joshua built a superbly complex design. He used a range of layered dominoes, a car race track and a small car to launch his chain. If you would like more information or to see what others have created and learnt, please scroll down to the padlets below and view our class work which is getting updated and added to most days.
