A week of Cultural experiences

As we head into our final week of Term 3, and hopefully our last week of Distance Lockdown learning, there is a lot happening in our community.

Firstly it is Chinese Language Week. On our class Distance Learning page there are links to further pages to help us learn details and key phrases. By the end of the week, make sure you have tried Hello, How are you and Thank you.

The challenge for Chinese Language Week is for you to draw/create your Chinese Zodiac sign. Get this to Mrs Leung or Whaea Lesley by Friday. The best one will be forwarded to Miss Laxa, and she will post it to our Facebook page. The reward is 50 fale points and be the winner of our classroom for this challenge.
But which is your Chinese Zodiac Animal? This interesting Ted Talk, may give you a clue, or at least an idea of how it all works.

Laslty it is Tuvalu Language Week.  And we would love for you to learn the song Hands, Shoulders, Knees and Toes - and learn the Tuvaluan alphabet. Further links are on our Distance Learning page.

Finally Thursday will be our "bring a toy to share" Zoom before we all head off for a well earned break - and fingers crossed - get to meet in Room 26 for our final term together.

  1. Kia ora Room 17,
A nice update for what is happening this week for your class. I've had a bit of practice saying 'Hello' in Mandarin before. I am excited to see what people create for their Zodiac sign- my year is the Horse. What is yours Whaea Lesley and Mrs Leung?
