Our Summer Challenge poem - Writers Circle
We've been given a challenge to write a summer poem, that uses only 3 of our senses, based on a picture of a boy mowing a lawn. Stage 1 was to draw and then brainstorm some ideas for the sounds and smells we would have on a summer's day while lawns are being mown in the neighbourhood. Today's stage was to read the mentor's piece of writing, and look at the set out and language used. Using highlighters we located nouns, verbs and adjectives; talking about how they were used and what they do in a piece of writing. Our next stage is to write our own, and share with each other so that we can make it come alive for our readers.

Kia ora Room 17,
ReplyDeleteWow! So many wonderful activities have been undertaken during your Disconnect-Ed Friday. Who would of known that so many insects were lurking in our back yards and we just have to go and find them. Sometimes we are so busy rushing around we don't notice them. It is good to take the time to go and search for them. Have you found an insect in your back yard you couldn't identify?
Cheryl.
